Check out our winter snowshoe program!

Shoveling in a Winter Wonderland

(Feel free to sing this) The weather outside has been frightful, and our summer was so delightful, we really have no place to go, Stop the Snow, Stop the Snow, Stop the Snow.

If you are a Vancouverite like me, you recently experienced a dreadful month of power outages, tree toppling winds, boil water alerts, an early spring clean up, a renewed love for the community centers, and a greater appreciation for mother nature.  Yes, as a Canadian, we are spoiled in the west coast with mild winters, tropical plants, and snow on demand.  A “snow storm” here creates chaos on the roads, school closures, and generally is the talk of the town.  Back east, they laugh as it is a typical winter snow fall for them.  Regardless, after six days of no power, I am happy to now say bye to the white stuff.
Start the New Year with a Bang!

The holidays are filled with music, harmony, love, joy, and peace. Wouldn’t it be nice to have this throughout the year?  That’s our goal and as such Beyond the Tour is very pleased to announce that we are working with the like-minded Drum Cafe.  Drum Cafe’s powerful interactive drumming experience creates lasting harmony, rhythm, respect, and unity in organizations.  Individuals play to the same beat and really feel the impact of making music together.  Please contact us for more details or visit:

Why not start the new year with everyone playing to the same beat?

Call us at 1-888-656-DRUM (3786) or email Glen at the Drum Cafe to unite, uplift and inspire your team.

Going Beyond. Habits take 21 Days to Break

Studies have shown that if you can sustain a desired change in your life for 21 days straight, it’s there to stay.  Whether it is biting nails, clicking your pen, or smoking, we all have things that we would love to resolve.  That’s what New Years resolutions are for – ya, that’s it.  How many of us keep those?

Nasty habits are up to us to break.  Only we can change them.  Many of them are around health and Beyond the Tour wants to help you understand why getting outside and exploring nature will help reduce the number of annual resolutions.  Here are the facts:

  • Hiking can decrease blood pressure
  • Hiking can reduce joint pain
  • Hiking increases bone density
  • Hiking gets rid of holiday fat
  • Hiking ups your adrenaline
  • Hiking increases your bodies oxygen intake – Oxygen is a good thing
  • Hiking clears your mind
  • Hiking creates more environmental consciousness
  • Hiking is a great way to find a place to just sit and be present
  • Rarely do you find vending machines with junk food on a hike
  • Hiking gets rid of stress
  • Hiking is a great way to get more out of life
  • Hiking helps keep your body younger
  • Hiking is a great habit you won’t want to lose

    Happy Hiking!
Valley Boy

Beyond the Tour, yes, we are a hiking business and that’s our passion.  The snow is on the summits and yes, we can snowshoe up.  But what about hiking?

Capilano Valley in North Vancouver is an ideal place to exercise this passion year around.  The trail system is extensive and the hikes are relatively easy.
Click here for a map of the park.

The park is also a great place to do some trail running, take the kids, and show off Vancouver’s nature to relatives during the holidays.  The park offers natural history, a fish hatchery with a museum, and some old forest growth.  It’s is a wonderful and close spot to be passionate.

Please visit our resource section on www.beyondthetour.com for more details on B.C. hikes.

Beyond the Tour in 2007
The sun is setting on 2006. Beyond the Tour wants to thank you all for your support during our first year in business.  We are looking forward to a prosperous 2007 and hope to have the opportunity of taking you, your team, or someone you know on a Beyond the Tour excursion.  Please remember that we are also offering snow shoeing excursions during this winter season.  We are happy to meet with you to discuss your individual business development needs and explain how Beyond the Tour and/or Drum Cafe can help grow team fulfillment, success and synergy.

Once we hear our own voice, listen to our bodies, and believe and respect each other,
we all grow.

Glen Sollors, Founder and Chief Trail Blazer, Beyond the Tour.
